Fight for your internet freedom. And Yes you can make a difference to the world.

Everyone can make a difference. It just starts with the Idea of one. It is just the people like you and me who have changed the world.
I would like to talk about some people who changed my life the way I see freedom. Privacy concerned in the straight forward way.
Aaron Hillel Swartz (November 8, 1986 – January 11, 2013) was an American computer programmer, writer, political organizer and Internet activist.

“People often ask me what’s going to happen, and the answer is it is up to you, you get to decide what will happen, this isn’t something playing out on stage somewhere where big giants fight each other and you get to see and munch popcorn. This is a fight you can join in.”

A creative genius on the online world, he took his own life after being charged with two counts of wire fraud and eleven violation of the computer fraud and abuse act that could have had him behind bars for more than thirty five years.
He had problem with authorities after downloading and releasing more than 2.5m US federal court documents, in an effort to make public domain information actually public. After two years he got arrested because he download around 70GB of papers from academic database JSTOR using MIT’s computer network. This video shows it all why he was arrested.

On January 11 2013, Swartz hanged himself. He left no note. The Day We Fight Back was started in the memory of Aaron Swartz. A documentary is also being made.

Kim Schmitz also known as Kim Dotcom was born on 21 January 1974 in Kiel, Germany is a German-Finnish Internet entrepreneur, businessman, singer and hacker, currently residing in New Zealand. He is the founder of Megaupload and its associated websites, as well as Megaupload’s successor site, Mega.

His website Megaupload was shut down by US government in collaboration with New Zealand government stating that his website was opened just for copyright infringement. In January 2012, the New Zealand Police placed him in custody in response to US charges of criminal copyright infringement in relation to his Megaupload website. In my view that is just a false statement to give. Dropbox, Skydrive, Google and other similar website does the same work of  data sharing, but Megaupload was targeted.

The video below shows the Raid that happened in his house.

Hollywood is been funding US government in voting campaign and so on. US government is trying to pay back the hollywood by taking down Megaupload because it has been sharing movies and music, Kim Dotcom explains. But the owner of the site cannot be held responsible what the user share over the internet. He claimed that he even gave direct access to Hollywood, Microsoft and other 180 organization to their servers to delete their content from Megaupload servers, if they find any without his approval.

He has written a open letter to Hollywood.
It is totally unfair to shutdown the Megaupload. Till today he is in house arrest and all of his assest is frozen. He cannot use his own money to fight his own case in court.

‘I’m not a pirate, I’m an innovator’ Kim says.

Despite legal action still pending over Megaupload, Dotcom launched a new project/website named “Mega” in January 2013, opened to the public exactly one year after Megaupload was shut down. It is a cloud storage service that uses encryption to protect users from government or third party “spies” from invading users’ privacy.

WikiLeaks is a wiki that hosts leaked confidential documents, while preserving the anonymity of its contributors and staff. US Government is out to get editor in chief Julian Assange. WikiLeaks has published the biggest leaks in journalistic history. This has triggered aggressive retaliation from powerful groups. Since 7th December 2010 an arbitrary and unlawful financial blockade has been imposed by Bank of America, VISA, MasterCard, PayPal and Western Union.

WikiLeaks releases include:

  • Afghan War Diary, published in July 2010, which included 76,900 previously unavailable documents.
  • Iraq War Logs, published in October 2010 in conjunction with commercial news media, which included over 400,000 documents.
  • Kenya: The Cry of Blood – Extra Judicial Killings and Disappearances, a report on police killings in Kenya, for which the organization won a 2008 Amnesty International award.
  • Video from a 2007 helicopter attack in which Reuters journalists and Iraqi civilians were killed by U.S. forces.
  • The collected secret ‘bibles’ of Scientology, which included organizational details and practices of the controversial religion.
  • Screenshots of Sarah Palin’s email account.
  • Membership rolls of the far-Right British National Party, including names, addresses and occupations.

Edward Joseph Snowden is an American computer specialist, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee, and former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor who disclosed a large number of top secret NSA documents to several media outlets. The leaked documents revealed operational details of a global surveillance apparatus run by the NSA and other members of the Five Eyes alliance, along with numerous commercial and international partners.

He has released millions of confidential data of US government that revealed the Big project like PRISM from NSA. US Government spying on it’s citizen and also to it’s allies. Snowden is considered a fugitive by American authorities who in June 2013 charged him with espionage and theft of government property. In early 2014, numerous media outlets and politicians issued calls for leniency in the form of clemency, amnesty or pardon, while others called for him to be imprisoned or killed. He lives in an undisclosed location in Russia and, according to German politician Hans-Christian Ströbele, continues to seek permanent asylum “in a ‘democratic’ country” such as Germany or France.

There are many other people which I have not spoken about. One of them is Bradley Manning who downloaded more than 700,000 classified documents from US military servers and passed them to WikiLeaks. His Revelations from the files downloaded includes footage of US helicopter crews laughing at civilian deaths in Baghdad and many other classified documents.
US Government should stop spying on the world, What about the People right to Privacy? Whatever US is doing is Illegal.

How can I change the world?

People often donot understand the power of one. They underestimate the power that they have got. Everything around you that you called life was made up by people that were no smarter than you and you can change it, you can influence it. Once you learn that you will never be the same person again. Some of the thing that you can do for your privacy protection is fight against the Co-operation that are abusing their power and spying on you. For that you don’t have to literally fight but just talk about it on the internet in different websites, making a banner that says stop spying on us or any thing that has a meaning that Big Co-operation and Governments not to spy on the citizen of the world.
