This is how the picture of Earth was taken from Apollo Moon

This has been 45 years since the following famous Picture of Earth was taken from space.


In December of 1968, the crew of Apollo 8 became the first people to leave our home planet and travel to another body in space. But as crew members Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders all later recalled, the most important thing they discovered was Earth.

The Astronaut were not expecting to see the Earth, but surprisingly they saw a blue marble coming up from the horizon. The crew were surprised , you can read the actual word spoken by Astronaut

Borman: Oh my God! Look at that picture over there! Here’s the Earth coming up. Wow, that is pretty!

Anders: Hey, don’t take that, it’s not scheduled.

Borman: (Laughter). You got a colour film, Jim?

Anders: Hand me that roll of colour quick, will you –

Lovell: Oh man, that’s great!

Anders: Hurry. Quick… Lovell: Take several of them! Here, give it to me…

Borman: Calm down, Lovell.
